#1 You have to WANT to be a business owner, no excuses,  take action right away. You are consistent in moving your business forward. Your passion will show in everything you do. But who is your Target Audience?

The saying is: If you target everyone you’ll hit no one.  You need a specific group of people interested in the topic you write about. A micro-niche is a subset of your chosen niche. For example “gardeners”
– “home gardeners” -niche  “Ottawa home gardeners” Specific targets.
Choose as small a group as possible, but one that is large enough to help you make your marketing objectives. Check the paid Google Ads on your search term. Shows there is money on that topic.

#2. You have to believe YOU CAN DO IT. You believe in yourself and have a positive attitude. If your mentor could do it, then you can too. Sacrificing is not key. You must have goals. That is the right mindset. You want to be a business owner and this affords a great lifestyle for you and your family.

#3. Find a GREAT MENTOR.  There are many coaches on the internet. You want to find one that is documented.  Someone who can show you and teach you how to be a great business owner. Someone who has been there and done it many times over.

#4. Take ACTION,  become recognized by your ideal customers by producing the publication of information that builds trust in relationships That know like and trust factor. A newsletter is a very good way to do so. See my optin.   If you want to change your life, you can!

The old style of marketing was a PUSH type of marketing which involved high-pressure sales tactics or manipulation in getting you to enroll into some business opportunity or buy a product. This style of marketing tactics was to hard-sell the prospect signing up right now!!! Into the business or buy this product by tomorrow before the timer times out! When you do a lot of hard-sell marketing, you will get a lot of cancellations. A much better way is…

To pull a prospect to you with Attraction Marketing…
Instead of pushing people, you want to PULL someone to you. Magnetic attraction. Pull them into your vision. Paint a picture for your prospect and let them see the benefit of joining your unique opportunity or your business, purchasing a product that will give them the transformation they seek. When speaking with a prospect ….pull them into your opportunity by asking pointed questions.

Here are some questions you might want to consider:

  • What is their biggest desire?
  • Grow their business?
  • Get more clients?
  • How to use social media?
  • What are are they offering for sale?

Be the best at what you do -continually!  Do you invest in your business before seeing a profit? Think of a restaurant owner. He has to buy plates, pots, and pans, furniture etc before he opens the doors to his potential loyal customers. A business is an investment for sure.

What type of person will benefit from your expertise? List the qualities you want in a client, do you have those qualities? Business is like a mirror, you reflect back what you see. You attract clients similar to your self.

Do you have a business owners mindset, not an employee mindset?  Can you structure your skills and expertise into an offer for your business? Be specific, people buy solutions to specific problems.

Do you have systems to bring people to you in a predictable income source? Such as Facebook re-targeting ads. Blogging promotion systems. Sell them what they want and teach them what they need.

Where do you find the right people online to pull towards you?

In your Niche
Nothing is more important than choosing your correct niche. “Concentrating all marketing efforts on a small but specific and well-defined segment of the population. Niches do not ‘exist’ but are ‘created’ by identifying needs, wants, and requirements that are being addressed poorly or not at all by other firms, and developing and delivering goods or services to satisfy them. As a strategy, niche marketing is aimed at being a big fish in a small pond instead of being a small fish in a big pond”

Every part of your marketing process depends on having groups of buyers, able and excited to buy your product. The Marketing Funnel is how you do that.

Some guide lines to ensure that the market or niche  is sustainable.
How large is the market?
Are people buying in that market?
Do your research… look at magazines, Google (paid Ads), other search engines, your competitors.

  • If there is a magazine about the market it’s a good indicator of the public interest.
  • Do a Google search for your top three keywords.
    More than 30,000 per month shows a good market interest.

Check to see if there are:
– active Facebook pages on the subject
– active Forums centered around the niche
– active Blogs on the areas of expertise on the subject
– active Email Newsletters
– active Google paid ads on the subject

Look at the competition -compare what they are doing.
Check to see what advertisers are being used.
Are their affiliate offers such as Clickbank, JVZoo or others?
What are influential people are associated with your market?

 

Your Hub – Your Website/Blog
Next after making sure you have the right niche that is making money you need to direct all your business from a website or blog. A blog is essential! This is the hub of your entire business with social media hovering around the mother blog sending people to your site.

You will be sending people to the blog to find out more about what your business does. Also for more information about yourself. More content is available there than just an ad or a squeeze page. People will get to know you and what type of work you do. The Know Like and Trust factor is so important in Attraction Marketing. Adding you to your site…

Images and Graphics speak volumes, so they are an important part of your posts. (An article on Graphics that I had written previously).  Blog articles on your niche subject help make you the go-to expert that they are looking for to solve their problems or their pain.

Traffic To Your Offers
To get people to your blog there are many ways to do so:
* offer a Lead Magnet – an e-book, video or check list
* offer a Tripwire – a small investment to gauge interest
* offer a Core Product – basic information on your subject
* offer a Profit Maximizer – a course or training program

Or you can start with a Coaching or Training Program first. – more pull than push. You the authority of your own program. People see you as the expert and are drawn to you because of that fact.

Traffic Sources

You do need to be visible but you don’t need to be everywhere all at once time.

Joining groups or starting your own group, (positions yourself as a leader ) on social media such as Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn,  will send you targeted traffic. You can learn to drive traffic through tactics by growing your community and your audience with Blogging, Facebook Ads or Email Marketing, as well as getting them on the phone – rather than a sales page.

The goal, no matter which traffic source you choose, is to drive prospects into your Funnel.  Gathering many with awareness at the top and using marketing in the middle with Social Media,  Blogging and Email Marketing to the end of the funnel where they are happy to become your customer or client. You should master a single, steady traffic source and, once mastered, add a second and third traffic source.

These would include:
Email Marketing – offers in emails.
Social Advertising (Facebook/Twitter/YouTube ads, etc.)
Banner Advertising – on your site or blog.
Solo Ads – various places to buy these.
Blogging – connected with blogging groups.
Organic Social Media – various Social Media.
SEO – set your blog up with keywords to get listed on Google.

Your traffic sources need a lead magnet or a free gift in exchange for an email address. You will need to provide great value with the Lead Magnet. An irresistible offer. Give away your best content. If makes people wonder about your paid offerings!!

The Lead Magnet is usually offered on a web page called a landing or squeeze page that is optimized to convert even cold traffic into leads. The opt-in page redirects to the thank you or download page, and usually a sales page.

The landing page does not need to be extensive. Simple is best. Keep in mind – Lead Magnets don’t have to be lengthy or complex, or time-intensive to create. “Complexity is your enemy” – Richard Brandson.

You simply need to solve a specific problem with a specific solution for a specific segment of your market. Opt in to get your special gift…They are generally very short (one page or so) and cut straight to an ultra-specific point. You can deliver these as simple checklists, mind maps or “blueprints” or short pdfs.

Emails are then sent out to your prospects. You are able to send a newsletter to tell them what else is happening with your business and what further offers may be of interest to them. Very soft sell type of emails with the main objective being to tell them more about yourself and your business.

Communities bring people together

Find a group of people who have a common goal and then bring them together by using a community… Facebook group or LinkedIn groups etc. Then you get seen as the expert and people look up to you. All you’ve really done is put the community together and invited people Setting up a group.

The best part about this is that your community will grow virally because other people will invite others to the community. Which means you generate more leads when you know how to persuade and influence the people in your community. If you still do not have your own community you need to get one set up because when you get it right, it is one of the fastest ways to enhance your credibility and authority.

Deceased online. Not a subject you see online very much, most of us don’t think about this eventuality, but quite an important one and it is better to be prepared.

I had a Facebook friend a few years ago, that I learned was deceased online. It was only in a random post from a mutual friend that I learned of this sad fact. It was shocking to learn that she had passed away a month ago previously to this post.  I had to message our mutual friend to find out what happened. This is not what I would want to have happened concerning my own death.  I’ll bet you feel the same. So here is content that  I have found to make it easier for friends and family concerning digital legacy.

Do you have a Will?

While you probably have created a will that outlines what should happen to your possessions, what about your online property? I have a will and I will be letting my executor know about this article so she knows about my online business property.

Social Media Accounts

What happens to all the social media accounts, websites, hosting, domains and ads we have online? The bank accounts, multiple user names, and passwords to access sites for work, social media accounts, email accounts, online portfolios?  You may be the only person who can legally and physically access them right now. So what happens to them in the event of your passing?

I have a significant online presence, likely you do as well. Our lives are tied to the digital world. Our social media feeds are full of our personal info, images, shared moments, snapshots of our lives frozen in time. Do you just want to lose all of that when you are deceased online? Ask your family and loved ones what they want. Particularly photos. See the end of the article about this.

Something everyone should think about but especially if:

  • you use a lot of monthly subscription tools
  • you have a significant other who will need access to your accounts
  • you have a business partner(s) who will need access to your accounts
  • you own an online business have a significant online presence multiple social media accounts

Even mentioned: Points reward cards, Tim Horton cards, Air Miles… etc

Web sites and domains in your name linked to your chosen payment method. If you want these to be passed to someone, you need to make provision in your will. Speak to your lawyer and executor

I know my spouse will not know where to go to do all of this so I suggest that you make a list of the hostings services you use, all the websites with usernames and passwords and the various places you host your online portfolios.  Make a file – Deceased online. Tell you’re significant other about this file on your computer. It will have all the info they will need to know.

Each social media platform handles this subject on digital legacy a little differently (more in the course. He also has a great video as well.)

Facebook has a legacy contact for you to add a friend and walks you through setting it up.

Google has an inactive account manager with a set time limit.

Instagram has a memorize account request – locked as a shrine.

LinkedIn has a family or friend request removal, a list of info needed.

Pinterest has an email address to send to:  name password email info.

Snapchat needs the username and password and precise instructions on what to do.

What is your vibration or feeling that your message gives? Are you attracting the wrong people?

If you find that the people you attract are only interested in something for free, they would not be your ideal client, would they? Are you putting out a product to sell them? You should know your dream customer better than your competitors do. Attract who you want to serve.

  1. Demographics, age, income, family etc
  2. Her wants, passions, and interests
  3. Where do these ladies hang out?

I have 2 different types of avatars

One is the new person to blogging and the other is the people who have started their business and need help with direction, strategies, and systems.

Have your avatar in mind when you create your content. Ask yourself  -will they love this content? The more you craft your content, be it free or paid,  make it something that they will like. Your money will be made by your services and products accordingly.

  • In your own Facebook group
  • Online forums

Clients who are just like you. You know what you want so someone like you will like similar things.

Make the survey questions short. No one wants to answer 10 questions, especially if they don’t know you. Only 1 – 3 questions is a perfect limit. You can also use them in your email list. Use a subject line  like: 3 quick questions to help me give you better content on blogging

  2. Ask what is your biggest struggle with blogging?
  3. How would you describe your situation in your business right now?

There are going to be people who just don’t get you. They don’t like your style or your content doesn’t resonate with them. Focus on your strengths. What are you good at? Become exceptional at that!
