Why Run a Website Membership Site?

What is eCommerce?

  • You want to make  some money online,
  • so how do you go about doing that?
  • You want to build a store online for your small business or
  •  just start selling on a simple ecommerce site.

That sounds pretty simple but really it's quite complex.

There are many platforms online that you can choose from. The trick is to understand which one would suit your needs.

If you’re a small business owner, like I was, who wants an easy to use platform that lets you set up a stunning online store, without costing you a small fortune, then you’re in the right place.

Why Run A Membership Site?

You may have heard that it’s a way to grow your business,  bringing in a reliable revenue. But what are the pros and cons?

Starting a Membership Site is an idea that many people are looking for today.

Membership or Course

Membership with a community of like-minded people might be in Your future.

or – Perhaps a course would suit you better? The answer depends on the need.

What do you want to see in your life  going forward in this age of COVID-19? What do you want to create in the future for you and your family? Can you see your dreams come true ?- if you have the money to do it.

What is in store in your life concerning money? What income do you want to create? Do you see fun times ahead with friends or family? Would that even be possible?  Do you want to make money online? Do you have a strategy to do it with?

How do you want to create a difference?
How can you contribute to your community? Contribute to a charity? Personal growth or maybe more spirituality? What would you like to see happen? What can you create? What career goal images pop up?

What things would you like to do?  What would you like to do to make that happen? What do you see yourself doing?

Want to wake up each morning feeling grateful for all that you have? Not having to punch a time clock at work?  working for someone else instead of for yourself? Been there, did that, for many years. I was never happy doing that type of work, and I tried many different types of work.

What to do:

– Write it all down in your day timer with a dated deadline.  Use a scheduler like Asana or Trello and schedule it all to be done… and do it. Do your research on starting a membership site or writing courses. It is not the same.

Either of these strategies, a membership site or creating a Course is the ultimate way to make money online. The dream is to be self-reliant, work from home, and base all of your business online. In theory, this is a great idea… and it can be done. I learned from others who have done it. Here is what I found….

Creating a Course First

Before creating a membership site you may be interested in doing a simple course to start with. Later it could be incorporated into a membership course along with other content such as videos.

The Best Online Course Building Plugin‎  for WordPress  Thrive Apprentice

You can also Create  Pro courses with this plugin straight from your WordPress dashboard.

With the power of Thrive Apprentice you can boost your subscribers by quickly creating free online courses as lead magnets, or when used with your membership plugin, create paid courses that integrate seamlessly with the rest of your site.

Course vs Membership

I have a paid membership with Thrive Themes. I have purchased many of their products. I am an affiliate as well.

A Membership Site…

This type of business site is obvious in that you produce a residual income and because almost 70% of your members will be recurring members, then you don’t have to focus so much attention on attracting new clients. You really appreciate your members and you show it.

VIP Membership

A membership site that I belong to is  Ivory Mix with it’s membership site:  My affiliate link. Also great article tech tools.

One of the ways people can achieve this is through the creation and running of a membership site. By running a membership site you will obtain a reliable monthly income and a large group of people that look forward to what you have to say and who trust what you do online. You know, that know like and trust factor.

For these people, you are an expert in your field and a person that can be relied on, and that is what every Internet marketer is looking for,  an expert who can help them.  Kayla Butler heads the Ivory Mix Membership. She teaching recurring income in a very fun way!

A great article from her site about Memberships.

The Benefits of a Membership Web Site

It is every internet marketers dream to have a large group of people who KLT you. That stands for “know, like and trust “. You can achieve this through a website membership. Once you have created these bonds, then you can market your own products or affiliate products to these members, so not only do you get the residual income from the fee you charge, but you also sell other products to your select group of people. Having an affiliate component where others can sell to prospective members and receive an affiliate pay is the ideal.

As your membership grows, so will the opportunities that come your way. People will see you as the expert in your field and other people will want to join, as well as marketers who will want to advertise with you. Also  have you promote their products and you will also earn a commission from those products. This means you will receive bigger and better business opportunities.

Closing Thoughts

Whichever way you go with your business, a membership site, or setting up several courses, it’s all up to you to decide. Everyone is different and no two businesses are the same. What works for one, does not necessarily work for another.  If you would like to discuss this, I offer a free 20 min consult by appointment on my contact page. Happy to chat with you on Zoom.

Please update more often because I love your blog. Thank you!

    1. Goldbecken,
I am the author, I do use quotes and site other businesses as an affiliate. Some of my articles are better than others, I agree. I am re-publishing older posts and updating them as I go thru them. I had been publishing every other week but with my latest post, I am following my own advice and creating a publishing calendar and will be on my site in a weekly manner.
